The Mockingbirds were easily one of the best parts of our wedding, which took place on 1/27/2024. We (bride and groom) were on the dance floor for almost the entire night with a large group of others, and we have received countless compliments from our guests on how much they loved the music/band. As the groom, I admittedly did not have a heavy hand in most of the wedding planning. However, the one big thing that I was responsible for was the music. Given lack of other assignments, I was able to spend a good chunk of time researching different live music options for our wedding, which involved multiple phone calls and going to see various bands perform live. Here is why The Mockingbirds won our “Battle of the Bands,” in no particular order: Set List Customization - Many bands we spoke to offered limited customization of their set lists. They had their repertoire of songs they played at most/all weddings, and would let you pick a few additional songs of your choosing. This was not the case with The Mockingbirds. They sent us a Spotify playlist of over 200 songs that they knew, and we customized almost the entire set list. The handful of songs that they played which we did not pick fit in perfectly with the vibe of the wedding and the other songs that we did pick. They even learned 2 or 3 new songs for us that we requested, which were not originally a part of their Spotify list. Well Rounded – The Mockingbirds know songs across a wide variety of genres. For our wedding, we chose a set list that was mostly 90s/2000s pop punk (Sum 41, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, etc.) with some classic rock sprinkled in. This made our wedding reception feel almost like a rock show in many ways, which is exactly what we were looking for. All of the other bands I went to check out sounded very “wedding band-y” for lack of better term. I say this understanding that this is what some people want, and The Mockingbirds do know a bunch of those songs that you hear at most weddings, as well, if that’s what you are going for. All I am really trying to say here is that you shouldn’t feel “boxed in” at all with the Mockingbirds, no matter what genre(s) or vibe you are going for. Pricing – The Mockingbirds were the most competitively priced of all the bands I spoke to. This made me slightly nervous at first, but after reading some reviews and seeing them live, I quickly realized this was nothing to be concerned about (and obviously a HUGE plus, with how expensive weddings are). They performed as a 3-piece at our wedding, which is their standard configuration, and it worked perfectly for our wedding of ~120 guests. Don’t listen to these other bands that try to tell you that you need a 6 or 7-piece band for your wedding. I also worked directly with Kyle, the guitarist, over the phone. I’m guessing this removes some “middle man” costs as some of these other bands have separate booking people and others they need to pay. Accessibility/Live Shows – The Mockingbirds are regularly playing shows in Boston and elsewhere in New England which made it very easy to go and see them live beforehand. Some of these other bands we considered to play our wedding do limited “showcase” nights, and others didn’t even offer an option to see them live (I was surprised that some just told me to check out their YouTube videos). In summary, the Mockingbirds were amazing! Do yourself a favor and book this band for your wedding. I did the research for you!
One of the best decisions my wife and I made was hiring The Mockingbirds for our wedding. Truly. All of our guests couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had dancing and singing along to their songs all night. They even were able to accommodate and perform a special song that always plays at my family’s weddings which absolutely rocked. Their communication on the front end before booking and leading up to the wedding was extremely transparent and they even made a number of recommendations on how to do certain which made things way smoother. Could not possibly recommend booking this band any more.
Booking the Mockingbirds Band for our Vermont wedding was easily one of the best decisions we made. From the moment the band began playing through their final song, the dance floor was packed! Every song they played sounded brilliant and the energy they brought throughout the night was more fun than we could’ve imagined. The band knew exactly how to engage with our crowd; throughout the night, guests kept coming up to us to compliment them. Working with Kyle leading up to the wedding was also a seamless experience. He was incredibly easy to communicate with and always kept us updated on next steps. Early in the process, we floated the idea of learning a “Whole Lotta Love” and “Crazy in Love” mashup to get the party started, and the crew was more than willing to learn this for us. We truly can’t say enough good things about the Mockingbirds. Book them if you can! We wish we could do it all over again!
The Mockingbirds are INCREDIBLE! I think almost every guest at our wedding came up to myself, my husband or my parents to tell us how amazing the band was. Every member of the band was so nice and genuinely happy to be performing at the wedding. They played an excellent mix of music based on our conversations and kept the party going the entire night. Kyle, the bandleader, was so responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. He had great advice about how we could incorporate some special moments into the night. We really can’t recommend the Mockingbirds enough if you are looking for a really great band that isn’t the typical, cheesy cookie cutter band. Their version of our wedding song was better than the original and perfect for our first dance!
The Mockingbirds were incredible. I can't imagine what a better wedding band would be like. We saw them play a gig at a bar in Boston. It was just the core 3 guys and they had everybody in the bar... People of all ages... up and dancing and having a great time. We knew they would be perfect for our wedding. We were right. Kyle was very communicative with us in the weeks leading up to the wedding. He made sure he understood our musical preferences. The band learned a song for us even though they didn't need to learn one for our bride/groom dance. It was just a Foo Fighters song we like that was not on their repitoire. He communicated with the venue. At the wedding they got there well in advance to set up. DJed some music for the cocktail and dinner hours and then most importantly, got everybody out on the dance floor for the entire 2 hours or so they played. And I mean everybody. They played a great mix of music for our multigenerational guests. They brought an additional singer to complement the main trio. Everyone commented to me how much they loved them and how much better they were than they band they had at their wedding or other wedding bands they had seen. These guys love what they do. That comes through loud and clear in their performance and the guests just ate it up. We were all so bummed out when it was time for it to end. Book them. Book them now. You won't regret it.
Stop your search. Book them now. They CRUSHED it at our wedding! We’ve had so many friends asking how we found them and so many others saying they had seen them play around Boston and loved them and were so happy to see them play again that night. We danced all night long only leaving the dance floor to cut our cake and to take a breather. They even learned a few songs that weren’t on their master setlist and were very flexible with the playlist, even making some last minute changes the morning of the wedding. So quick to respond to us and such nice people to work with. You won’t regret it - book them!
The Mockingbirds were SUCH a great decision for our day. We had a DJ booked through our venue but we really wanted live music too. The Mockingbirds worked so seamlessly with our DJ so we could have a wide variety of music. They even learned some songs we requested and did an INCREDIBLE job. Let's Go Crazy by Prince was one of my favorite moments of the entire day. Kyle was extremely communicative and quick to respond throughout the planning process and truly a pleasure to work with. As a stressed bride who feels the pressure to do everything herself, The Mockingbirds made me feel like the music was completely taken care of from the start. That piece of mind alone is worth booking them. Plus, our guests LOVED them. Amazing song list, great energy, and excellent guitar skills.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Kyle, Riley and the Mockingbirds. From our first interaction to our wedding day. A little background - I have planned over 500 weddings for other couples.. but in a different market. When we moved back to New England and got engaged, the challenge was vendors. We came across these guys thanks to Wedding Wire and started digging deeper. We went to see them at a local venue and even though it was a paid gig for them, they took the time to say hello to us, make us feel seen and, without even trying, showed us how genuine they are. Despite being incredibly talented, it was the impression of being genuine, good guys that sold us on them. On the night of the wedding, our family and friends (laden with hospitality industry folk and tough critics alike) had nothing but amazing feedback for the band. They were by far and away the best vendor we hired!
To keep it short and sweet. You should book the Mockingbirds immediately!!! The level of professionalism, talent, and genuine joy that this group brings to a wedding ensures that the dance floor stays full and high energy all night long. Through the entire process, the guys were incredibly communicative, flexible and understanding of what we were looking for. Ultimately, we hired the core 3 plus a female vocalist (who ROCKED) and from the gorgeous acoustic guitar at the ceremony site through the killer introduction of the wedding party and into a setlist that friends are still talking about, we are already looking forward to one day working with them again. Ultimately, if you are like us and want a group who loves to play and genuinely likes to entertain, BOOK THE MOCKINGBIRDS.
The Mockingbirds checked all our boxes as a wedding rock band! We were looking for a high-energy band who would appeal to our wedding guests, both young and old. The Mockingbirds offered a wide variety of music in their setlist, were open to learning new songs, and offered their services at a reasonable price. Riley, our POC in the band, was always professional in his communication and quick to respond to us. He was also flexible when we needed to add on additional services (such as a solo instrumentalist for cocktail hour or MCing the reception). On our big day, everyone was impressed by the talent in this band! Our guests were up and dancing the whole night (including toddlers), and the band only took one 15-minute break during the whole set. Their performance and MC services were exactly what we wanted (and needed) for our wedding reception and we would highly recommend them to any couple looking for a rock band! These guys are awesome!
If you are hesitant at all about whether or not to work with The Mockingbirds, I am here to put you at ease. You would be SO fortunate to book this amazing group if they are not already booked out. From start to finish, The Mockingbirds band was truly phenomenal. I booked them for a surprise company anniversary party with 100+ in attendance. To this day I am still getting comments from guests on how great the band was. It truly made the event the success that it was! A few highlights - Planning/Professionalism: The band is incredibly responsive and willing to work with you to plan every step, from setup/layout to opening songs & playlists, to intermittent speeches, and more. Even during the event coordination and communication were seamless. Quality/Talent: The band is extremely talented!! They can also play a wide variety of music and are engaging with the audience to keep the energy high. Future Bookings: yes, I will 110% be booking this band again next time I need a band. High energy, varied repertoire, an easy-to-navigate Spotify playlist to help you choose your must-hear songs, and day-of flexibility make them one of the easiest vendors I’ve ever worked with. This band does it ALL! Saw them at a Boston pub on a Friday night, all ages were on their feet! I had no idea they did weddings, etc. because they had a garage band vibe at the bar. This is how diverse they are. I hired them for a Tiki Party at my club - a daytime event - and people of all ages RAVED about them - they have incredible energy, tremendous musical talent, spot-on sound for wide range of covers, good crowd-reading, and super professional to work with. Can't wait for the next excuse to hire them!
The Mockingbirds was the perfect band for our wedding! They were professional and organized throughout every conversation that we had. They offer a variety of services that we could choose to use or not, not pressure at all. We were able to choose songs that we wanted played live or DJ'd. They definitely read our crowd and kept the dance party going - just what we wanted! We could recommend them to anyone looking for a fun time!
We asked The Mockingbird’s to keep people dancing all night and that is exactly what they did. Our guests can not stop talking about how talented and fun the band was, they were even chanting at the end of the wedding “one more song” The band leader, Kyle, was so easy to work with! He heard all our needs and was so accommodating even when we made a switch a song the day before our wedding. A quick listen to their Spotify playlist you can hear the full range of music they are able to play. The band also worked very well with our on-site wedding coordinator and they were very engaging with our crowd all night. They truly made a memorable night for us and our guests!
The Mockingbirds were absolutely fantastic for our wedding reception at a local brewery! Kyle was extremely responsive and communicative throughout the booking/planning process, and we were able to add several pieces to the band, including a female vocalist and a horn. The Mockingbirds had us covered for music from the start to finish of our event: Acoustic guitar during the cocktail hour, the whole band playing relaxed music during dinner, and then the perfect mix of pop covers during the later portion of the evening. The band kept everyone out on the dance floor with hit after hit, and many of our guests commented on how great they were! Even guests who weren't dancing were clearly enjoying the music, and the band brought amazing energy to our event--and they sounded fantastic! I would definitely recommend the Mockingbirds for a wedding, or any other party!
We hired the Mockingbirds for our wedding this past July. They not only exceeded our expectations with their music and energy during our wedding day, but they were also extremely professional during the back and forth leading up to the big day. Kyle is extremely responsive on phone and email, and we never had to worry about him not getting back to us when addressing our questions. Our wedding guests absolutely loved their music, and The Mockingbirds certainly catered to all of our requests for music during the ceremony, cocktail hour, MC services, etc. We cannot recommend them enough for your wedding our special event in the future. The Mockingbirds were the highlight of our wedding! Our guests were raving all night and for days after about just how much they enjoyed the Mockingbirds. Throughout the planning process, Riley and Kyle were so professional and responsive and ensured that they had everything just right for our big day. They are super organized! The ceremony went off perfectly as they kindly worked with our officiant to ensure that the mics were set up correctly and the timing was perfect for each of the important moments. Kyle played lovely acoustic guitar for our happy hour and really set the mood for our event. The Mockingbirds coordinated all of our announcements, intros, and first dances and helped make everybody comfortable with the timing. The live dance sets are where the Mockingbirds really shine. They kept the dance floor crowded and engaged the whole night - playing a great mix of songs that got both of our youngest and oldest guests out dancing. The band is super talented and mixes in impressive solos into many of the songs. Their vocals are also great and have a huge range in styles that they can execute. They even took the time to learn a few special requests we asked for and nailed them. Thank you again Mockingbirds. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting an incredible band to be the highlight of their wedding day.
These guys are awesome! We hired the Mockingbirds to play for our wedding at Salem, MA on 09/23/22 and they did not disappoint. They were professional from beginning to end and played an amazing set that fit with the crowd perfectly. We keep hearing from our guests on how much fun they had dancing and listening to the Mockingbirds. The Mockingbirds didn’t just play the songs from the album, they included guitar solos, drum solos, bass solos, and rearranged some songs to put their own spin on them. They even learned our first dance song, Everlong, and switched it up by lowering the tempo, allowing us to slow dance to it, and then increased the tempo at the end so our guests could join us. The song was perfectly executed. And it is no wonder why. The Mockingbirds aren’t just great players of their instruments, but they are excellent musicians as well. If you are thinking about getting this band for your wedding or event, you should stop thinking and book them. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
The Mockingbirds were INCREDIBLE! Multiple guests commented on how awesome they were and how much they loved the playlist. In addition, they jumped in to play acoustic guitar for our ceremony / cocktail hour, learned a couple of new songs for us, were open to playing a song with my dad, and generally thought of everything we wouldn't have. We booked the Mockingbirds to play at my college graduation party in our backyard last week. The band was absolutely outstanding! They worked with us to put together a playlist that appealed to wide range of age groups and they put on an awesome performance. On the afternoon of the party, we had 95 degree temperatures and oppressive humidity. Definitely, very tough conditions for the band to perform under, but they played a full three hours, nailed every song, and made the grad party a huge success. We’ve been getting texts and calls for a week now from friends who were at the party and from numerous folks in the neighborhood, even two blocks away who were listening from a distance in their backyard or front porch, all telling us how great the band was, and how much they enjoyed the music. One of my cousins who just got engaged is now looking to book the Mockingbirds to play at her wedding. (Hopefully the band will be available when she sets the date😊). I can’t say enough good things about the Mockingbirds. These guys are the best!
The Mockingbirds were a tremendous part of our wedding, and I can't even imagine hiring another band. They did an effortless job of mixing up the music to appeal to a wide variety of guests, and everybody with whom I discussed the music said the sound was so clear and well-suited to the room. Working with Riley to set up the event was as easy as can be, and other than choosing a few songs, they just showed up, did their thing, and were complete and consummate professionals. Riley was even able to assemble extra musicians to accompany them to achieve the sound we were looking for. My parents were so impressed, I saw them stealing away to the dance floor, which was definitely a first. If you want everybody to have a spectacular time on the dance floor for your event, you need to contact this group!

When I say we were BLOWN AWAY by The Mockingbirds at our wedding, it's an understatement. Kyle, Riley, Boston, and Ethan were so professional and fun - from pre-planning (Kyle was extremely responsive and helpful) to execution. They got all of our guests onto the dance floor every time they performed. Even after listening to them on their website, YouTube, Instagram page, they sounded even better in person. We received so many comments like "how did you find this band?" and "that was the most fun wedding band I've heard". If I did it all over again, it would be with this group. The Mockingbirds were absolutely amazing. Our dance floor didn’t stop all night and we continue to hear from our guests about how awesome the band was. Super talented musicians, such a fun vibe and they even played some special songs for our Australian guests. Wish we could do it all over again! They were a pleasure to communicate with. Our wedding was in a pretty remote field in the mountains and the band was fully prepared and arrived on time as promised. Would absolutely hire them again for any event!

As soon as we heard The Mockingbirds play 'The Middle' at another friend's wedding, we knew we wanted them to play at our wedding. Thankfully, Kyle, Riley, and Patrick were free on the weekend. They were incredible and responsive in all the set-up, and they are still often cited as the best part of the wedding by our guests. Absolutely outstanding band! We had a relatively small wedding and they still managed to make everybody dance and make it crowded on the dance floor. They read the crowd very well, and their musical skills are amazing. We will definitely go see them again when they play in our area!
The Mockingbirds were an absolute highlight of our New Year's Eve wedding, and our guests have not stopped raving about their performance. First, Riley was incredibly professional and in our first meeting already had an in-depth list of questions to make sure everything went smoothly and to get our preferences. He was always timely in responses, flexible in accommodating our requests, and clear on what to expect. The band learned a new song for us for our first dance which we deeply appreciated, and they did an amazing job. We asked for Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, and other 2010s hits and they did such a great job of mixing in exactly that with the oldies for our older guests. We also opted to add on a pianist, and they were great. Overall, the Mockingbirds were the absolute perfect band for our central MA wedding, and kept everyone on the dance floor until midnight. They were absolutely incredible! They brought so much life to the party with an awesome performance. Total professionals, they were easy to work with and delightful to have at the party. I HIGHLY recommend The Mockingbirds as a wedding band! This is a super talented group of musicians who knows how to read a crowd and put on an amazingly fun show.
